[Mixtape] YER NOTHING

yernothing-coveryernothing-songlist

“What a sad thing men are. Can’t do nothing good without being so weak we have to mess it up. Can’t build something without tearing it down.
It ain’t the Spackle that drove us to the end.
It was ourselves.”
― Patrick Ness: Monsters of Men

  1. Bullet For My Valentine: You Want A Battle? (Here’s A War)
    »Here’s a war!
    Here’s a war!«
  2. Emilie Autumn: Dead Is The New Alive (Manipulator Mix By Dope Stars Inc)
»What is day without a blessed night?
And what is peace without a blessed fight?«

Die Logik von David Prentiss und Nicola Coyle.
  3. Thirty Seconds To Mars: The Fantasy
»Say it, say it, say what you believe«
(I AM THE CIRCLE AND THE CIRCLE IS ME)
  4. Radiohead: Idioteque
»I’ll laugh until my head comes off, I swallow till I burst«
  5. Pocahontas Soundtrack: Savages , Part 1
»They’re not like you and me which means they must be evil
We must sound the drums of war!«
  6. Bullet For My Valentine: Army Of Noise
»We will not fall / Brothers in arms / We will deploy our army, an army of noise«
  7. Patrick Wolf: Oblivion
    »(I hear you…but I’m not afraid of you)«
    Todd/David und Viola/Nicola
  8. Roby Fayer ft. Tom Genfen: Ready To Fight
»I’ve been there before, hoping and trying to make things right, but now I don’t know«
  9. All Good Things: Love And War
    »I was just a boy«
„You went up a girl and came down a woman.” – Patrick Ness: Monsters of Men
  10. Woodkid: Run Boy Run (Instrumental)
Das Lied, welches die ganze Reihe wiederspiegelt.

  11. Alpines: Empire
»I’m building an empire, so little time and so much to do«
  12. Placebo: Fuck U
»Can’t believe you were once just like anyone else, then you grew and became like the devil himself«
  13. Mumford & Sons: Little Lion Man
»I really fucked it up this time
    Didn’t I, my dear?«
  14. Marina And The Diamonds: Savages
»Murder lives forever and so does war […] I’m not afraid of God, I am afraid of Man!«
  15. Florence + The Machine: Shake It Out (Acoustic)
„It’s always darkest before the dawn, Todd.“ – Patrick Ness: Monsters of Men
  16. Poets of the Fall: War
»When I thought that I fought this war alone, you were there by my side on the frontline / When I thought that I fought without a cause, you gave me a reason to try«
    [Todd]
  17. Death Cab For Cutie: What Sarah Said
»But I’m thinking of what Sarah said that „Love is watching someone die“… so who’s going to watch you die?«

“Remember me. But do it the right way. Remember it all. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I’d rather be forgotten than remembered the wrong way.”

A mix for the girl who made herself forget, Skylar Gardner, from Kate Karyus Quinn’s novel »(Don’t You Forget) About Me« –– the nineteen songs from the mixtapes as well as nine songs which came to my mind while reading her story.

[ l i s t e n ]

  1. Journey – Don’t Stop Believin‘
just a small town girl livin’ in a lonely world
